The Daily Photo #31- January 31st, 2016
When it is grey and overcast (every single day) my shots get moodier. It can get pretty bleak in an Ohio winter, so I look for contrast, lines, and silhouettes on days like this. The more time that passes in my personal photography, the more I find that the light on any particular day one is of the biggest determining factors in my choice of subject, exposure, and composition.
The light and the weather can contribute greatly to different visual moods. Try shooting in monochrome color profile on days like this. I find it helps me to think in black and white and can really add to my compositions. I also recommend shooting in RAW when shooting in black and white color profile, just in case you want the picture in color after all.
See you tomorrow.
