Even when I don’t feel like talking to anyone, I still like to be around people. Where there is people, there is energy, and I can feel it in the air. If you are like me, you are hard-wired to feed off of the energy of other people, and the Short North explodes with activity on the weekend. Of course, spring-like weather in February helps get people out of the house, too.

Although there aren’t that many street photography ‘hotspots’ in Columbus, I have found that the relatively small area of city-space is more than enough, if you look closely. I have found that shots start to jump out at me when I stay within a smaller area. Some days, I will stay inside a one block radius the whole time I am out shooting. If I start walking too fast, or too far, I tend to make lazy compositions and less photos, in general. Next time you are out, try to find a location that you like and work the scene.
