Motive. is a creative networking event on the first of every month at Brothers Drake that includes live artist workshops and demonstrations and really, really good mead and pierogies. Since May, Motive. attendees have gotten to screen print on t-shirts, create beats on their iOS device, design motion graphics, walk on stilts and more, all while meeting like-minded creative Columbus professionals.
Hometown hero Matt Reese and the rest of the Motive. crew will be bringing their dynamic event to the 3rd Annual Midwest Photography Expo on Friday, October 4 at 5:00 PM for #MotiveMobile, an exclusive hands-on event about mobile photography. Three gurus of mobile photography—Instagram favorite Adam Elkins (aka @bigmanjapan), fine art mobile photographer Amy Leibrand, and Lindsay Arnett (creator of #asseenincolumbus)—will discuss their successes with mobile photography and show you how you can achieve amazing images and attract attention with your nothing but your smartphone.
Adam will discuss combining the power of photography with the power of social media to create an online following, and why these two elements are integral marketing devices for newcomers. Check out Adam’s Instagram feed for more samples of his work.

Amy will discuss how mobile photography can become a veritable fine art. She will then show attendees how to demonstrate editing techniques with popular apps and how to blend layers using multiple photographs, providing printed tutorials for attendees to take home with them. Check out her website for more samples of her amazing work.

In the past year, over 57,000 photos have been tagged #AsSeenInColumbus on Instagram alone. Lindsay (social media manager at (614) Magazine) will discuss the success of this hashtag and how to create a successful trend that will drive viewers to your site.
