When we first heard about Canon‘s new Rebel SL1, we were like, “Huh? A DSLR that’s basically the size of a large mirrorless? Wha? Why? Huh?”
Then we got our hands on it and we were like, “Um. Yes.”

That’s because the Canon Rebel SL1 is a DSLR that fits (literally) in the palm of your hands while packing an 18.0-MP CMOS APS-C sensor, a DIGIC 5 Image Processor, a 3.0″ LCD Touch Screen, and a Full HD Movie Mode in a body that weighs less than a pound. Plus, if you get the 18-55 kit (which you should), you’ll get the new Canon EF-S 18-55 STM lens, which is so ridiculously fast with its auto-focus and so crisp in its image-making that you’ll probably be wondering if it really is “just” a kit lens.
