Stairway To…

If you’re hearing a Led Zeppelin riff here I totally get it. This staircase is wrapped around the remains of an industrial smokestack and can be found at the Ariel Foundation Park. A former PPG glass plant converted to a community park and gardens.

I was lucky the day I shot this, the skies were really dramatic and all the tones, textures and shapes in the scene just worked together really nicely. In shooting this image there were two major concerns. One, make sure that I was in the correct position to optimize the angle of the structure in the frame. Two, make sure that I got the edges aligned with the corners of the frame and the smokestack centered correctly.
