Imperfection

Photographers, especially in the digital age, can get caught up in chasing perfection. We think we need the sharpest lens, the perfect composition, the best light, etc… The pursuit of perfection over all else can be smothering. Sometimes it is just good to experiment and enjoy yourself. Embrace the mistakes. Mistakes can be masterpieces. Weathered and broken can be beautiful.

“Ring the bells that still can ring

Forget your perfect offering

There is a crack in everything

That’s how the light gets in…”

-From the song “Anthem” by Leonard Cohen
