At the Easy Riders convention, I found this gentleman who basically lives on his bike. It’s a lifestyle that he loves and it’s clear that he has toured this country from one end to the other. His lifestyle may not be everyone’s “cup of tea” but you have to appreciate someone who is genuine and follows their personal dream.

When I am “street” shooting, I normally don’t engage the subjects directly in the image, as I prefer more natural expressions. I was shooting closeups of the bike and all the accessories/decorations attached to it. As I was moving my lens around he just connected with the camera for a moment and gestured by pointing with his finger. I really liked the expression on his face and I quickly captured that moment. I love the juxtaposition of the moment, this guy who looks pretty tough, who really just wants to connect with people and tell his story.
