I never thought I would get to use the title of a John Mayer album for one of my pictures! Who knew? Just a little more of the amazing detail on the Ohio Supreme Court Building, Columbus, OH.

In this image, I wasn’t too concerned about depth of field. Of course, I didn’t want any areas that were out of focus, but given how flat the scene was it wasn’t a huge concern. Instead I really spent more time thinking about the overall exposure and ensuring that I didn’t blow out details. The low angle of the sun provided some really nice gold hour light and the texture is starting to show nicely. The other concern here is getting the image square and centered…making sure I was level with the center of the frame was an important shooting factor.
