Gearing Up: Fuji X-E1

fuji x-e1

The Fuji X-E1 has long been one of our favorite mirrorless/interchangeable lens cameras. Its 16-MP APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor eliminates the need for an optical low-pass filter, which is used in conventional systems to inhibit moiré at the expense of resolution, allowing the sensor to capture unfiltered light from the lens and produce unprecedented resolution. The OLED electronic viewfinder provides a comfortable and natural distortion-free view of the entire scene with astounding edge-to-edge clarity and maintained an excellent field of vision even if the photographer’s eye position shifts. Continuously shoot at a rate of up to 6fps, selectable autofocus, a 49-point metering matrix, and a 2.8″ LCD monitor give X-E1 users complete control over their image. Plus, it’s got a slick retro-style look that comes in black or silver varieties.

To give you an idea of the Fuji X-E1‘s image quality, T.J. took some fantastic-looking shots that show the range of the X-E1‘s capabilities.
